Elevator Blues (Blues Variations 1-4)

This set of four blues variations is a fun introduction to beginning blues piano. The light-hearted lyrics describe the woes of riding the elevator. The musical progression takes students through quarter notes, swing eighth notes, triplets, and syncopation. In addition, the major and minor blues scales are introduced as well as the basic barrelhouse and barrelhouse shuffle patterns. Elevator Blues can also be found in 12 Blues Variations for Piano by Jared Metzger Abel.
